John at Slate Lake

After breakfast Kathryn, Bonnie and I set up to paint our first field study. Mike and Rob went down the beach to assemble the first raft. Part way through the painting I sensed that things weren't going well with the assembly. I could hear Mike and Rob saying that we may have been given the wrong parts. That got all of our attention! Shortly there after, and after hearing several more comments like that, Kathryn was off to see what the matter was. Within a few minutes I could hear her say that the whole thing was upside down and that if they would take it apart and turn it over it would work. Sure enough she was right! Go Kathryn !! As much as we all liked this place we weren't planning on spending the rest of our life there. The trip had it's share of problems but all were solved in a timely fashion through team work and some help from a greater source.
