This
place got it's name for the millions of tiny pieces of slate that make
up the shoreline as far as the eye can see. After two days on Slate Lake
painting, exploring and assembling rafts the group was off for the next
leg of the journey that took them 70 miles down stream on various lakes
and rivers in the Tic Chik State Park system. Good painting, exploring,
fishing, eating, conversation and lots of rowing made up this experience
sprinkled in with a dose of building rafts and working on a cantankerous
motor system.
